Our Opportunities

Finding a reliable, competitively-compensated teaching job can be a challenge in Japan – and it’s a process that’s even trickier if you don’t already live in the country. Sifting through endless sites filled with jobs requiring years of experience – or low-level ones listed at rock-bottom rates – is discouraging to say the least.

We can help you can do better than that.

At Link Japan Careers Europe, we understand that you’re looking for access to the job market that puts you on the same level as jobseekers already abroad and with a few years of experience under their belt.

As the exclusive provider of candidates to Japan’s largest private employer of assistant language teachers (ALTs) – Link Interac – we can provide you with the opportunity to step up from common jobs to ones that are truly exceptional. If you have the motivation and ambition to make it in Japan, we will help you stand out and compete on an even playing field with all the other candidates out there with the same dream and the same determination.

5 Points of Professional Differentiation

1. No Cost to the Job Seeker

Other companies may charge you for their services, even if you aren’t offered a position, but not us! Link Japan Careers Europe makes its money when a candidate accepts a job they have been offered and our fee is paid by the company they will be working for. If the job doesn’t work out, and a new employee moves on to another company soon after starting, we return our fee to our client. That’s how confident we are in the quality and accuracy of our placement services.

2. Focus on Accessibility

We want to create a place where everyone wants to work.

Through Cross-Cultural Design, we aim to provide accessibility; to open up career opportunities in Japan to international professionals, put them on an even footing, and give them the right support to continue building a successful name for themselves in Japan.

3. Experts in Our Field

We want you to succeed!

Many of our consultants have lived and worked in Japan for decades. They have experience that spans a variety of fields and industries and they come from all corners of the world. You can rest assured that our team will handle your application carefully and with a thorough understanding of what it’s like to apply for a job overseas.

4. Unique Vision

We employ a unique philosophy when matching candidates with job opportunities in Japan. By drawing upon our cultural knowledge to tackle linguistic barriers, as well as leveraging the support and status of the Link Motivation Group brand (a leading Japanese HR and consulting firm (TYO 2170)), we create better accessways between you and your career destination. We don’t just want to find you a job – we want to help get you one the way to reaching your full potential.

5. Strategic Alliances – Link Interac and the ALT opportunity

It’s not about handing out a resume and hoping for the best.

When it comes to your job search, we are your strategic partner. Your resume will not remain unread and forgotten. While most positions start in the spring each year, Link Interac has positions available in other months for candidates flexible enough to relocate on shorter notice. We actively review their open positions and comb through our database of applicants again and again until we find the right match.

Client Profile

LJC-E’s largest clients, are the five regional companies of Link Interac Co. Ltd.

Link Interac (also part of the Link and Motivation Group) is an educational services company that provides assistant language teachers (ALTs) to teach ESL lessons to elementary, junior and senior high students in public schools (ie government schools) across Japan. Interac has more than 45 years’ experience in the education sector in Japan and employs more than 2,700 teaching staff nation-wide. And because the organisation is divided into 5 regional companies with a total of 13 branches, you’re bound to find an Interac ALT in nearly every part of the country.

Interac ALTs work in actual classrooms using materials based on the national foreign language enrichment curriculum. They are more than just an “assistant”; ALTs are often called on to plan and lead classes, as they are the de facto language expert in their school. This can be a high hurdle at times, but Interac provides initial and on-going training to help support their teachers in every way. Alongside building a teaching career, ALTs can look forward to really becoming a part of their local communities, both in and outside of the classroom.

Most ALT companies will point you in the right direction and send you on your way, but Interac will be with you every step of the process. The company assists with securing visas, making initial housing arrangements, and taking care of all the paperwork of getting set up as a foreign resident in Japan. Interac also helps orient you to your new school and neighbourhood so you feel comfortable and secure in your new surroundings.

All this translates into a great opportunity for anyone who’s seeking a teaching job in Japan. Unlike smaller companies that may be concentrated in a single region, Interac advertises a range of positions that are available across the country and, within reason, applicants can request to be assigned to a specific location if they want to relocate. Further, Interac instructors enjoy the type of training and support networks that only come with a company of Interac’s size.

More than 1,000 people a year make the choice to become an Interac ALT and you can be one of them! Learn more about Interac here or follow the links on our site to apply now.
